Near Death Experience: Jared Leto & Alex Honnold

The actor, filmmaker, musician, and singer-songwriter, Jared Leto, has found a new hobby in rock climbing. He met up with Alex Honnold, a professional adventure rock climber and Jared’s mentor, to try his hand at some challenging walls. The duo began to climb several mountains like the Joshua Tree, Yosemite and Sardinia.

One day while climbing at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Las Vegas, the duo met a near-death experience. Jared, who was out with Alex Honnold, were climbing the high canyon when the rope supporting him began to come apart against a rock. Jared looked up and within seconds the rope was being cut by the rock while he dangled some 180 meters (600ft) in the air and almost plummeted to his death. He thought it was a strange moment and that he felt his time was up. Fortunately for him, after the gruesome moment he managed to get his body to the wall to cling for safely.
