TWELF-X SKY Collection

1914 Auto Flyer

Our pioneer SKY collection is named the 1914 Auto Flyer in tribute to the invention of the autopilot first demonstrated by Lawrence Sperry in 1914. An autopilot is a system used to control the trajectory of an aircraft without constant 'hands-on' control by a pilot. This has allowed pilots to focus on other operations such as trajectory, weather and systems and push the boundaries for travelling the world for adventures. The autopilot feature is now commonly found in both military and civilian planes. The term ‘Flyer’ is with reference to a pilot like Lawrence Sperry who was carefree and dared to push the boundaries of exploration in his time.

As time is crucial during take offs and landing, time reference to GMT or UTC is also commonly used by pilots. Hence pilots always require a multi-zone watch. For those who travel a lot, a multi-zone watch serves to keep track of time in different cities be it for work purpose or to stay in touch with loved ones. TWELF-X 1914 Auto Flyer watch series feature a three time zone feature. The second time zone is indicated on the external rotating bezel with a 120 click unidirectional bezel with markers from 1 to 12. The inner rotating ring acts as a third time zone indicator, featuring markers from 1 to 12, to keep track of time for the truly globalized adventurer. The watch is water resistance to 200 meters or 656 feet and is suitable for adventures in the SKY.
